Overview In Statistical Process Control (SPC), we gather data from work processes to gain a better understanding of variation issues. We use this knowledge to develop corrective actions to reduce or eliminate variation and create a continuous improvement culture within the manufacturing organization. The use of SPC tools gives an organization the potential to build world-class quality into their manufacturing process. 4 Copyright © Texas Education Agency, All rights reserved.
Purpose of Pie Charts Pie charts are very popular and used in a variety of publications. When used correctly, the pie chart gives us the ability to quickly compare the relationship between the individual sections of data (or slices) to the entire data set (or whole pie). When creating a pie chart, it is important to make sure that o the total number of sections added together equals the whole data set, and o only two to six slices are used. 5 Copyright © Texas Education Agency, All rights reserved.
