Rhetorical Vocabulary Practice Individually: 1. Sort your cards into three stacks: a) “I know what this word means and how to identify/use it” b) “I kind of know what this word means and/or how to identify/use it” c) “I don’t know yet what this word means and/or how to identify/use it” 2. Use your flash cards to: a) Confirm your knowledge of your “I know” b) Practice your knowledge of your “I kind of know” c) Gain familiarity with your “I don’t know yet”

Rhetorical Vocabulary Practice In Partners & Small Groups:  Quiz each other on your rhetorical vocabulary  Take out previous annotations and add to your notes: discover and note instances of rhetorical terms being used in the text  Work on your Paine, Jefferson, and Roosevelt annotations, specifically focusing on identifying and analyzing rhetorical terms and patterns of development
