Introduction to Health Chapter 1

What is health???? Refers to the overall well-being of your body, your mind, and your relationships with others. Simply put: includes your physical, social, and mental/emotional aspects of your life. Each part is equally important. To be healthy, you must balance all of these parts.

Life Expectancy Refers to the number of years a person is expected to live 2013 data for the U.S.: all races, both genders years All males 75.6 years All females 81.3 years From , life expectancy has increased by 30 years.

Quality of Life Refers to the degree of overall satisfaction that a person gets from life. Your quality of life is largely in your control. To achieve a high quality of life, you must focus on all the aspects of your health (physical, social, and mental/emotional)
