Requirements for Hiring Consultants LAG Manual Chapter 31 – Advertisement Once a week for two weeks Title VI – Short List Criteria relevant to project Limit to no more the 3 if at all possible – Interview Phone interview OK for simple projects In person for more complex – Indirect Cost Rates Required for all consultants

Contract Requirements LAG Contract – Negotiated Fee – Use Required LAG Manual Forms – Include all Applicable Exhibits

Scope of Services Scope Development – Are you on the same page? – Details tasks – Outlines Deliverables – Sets Expectations – Complexity should match project – Only as good as the effort that goes into it

Budget Development Budget – Ties to Scope – Project hours/costs by task by person/classification – Used to prepare budget (exhibit D-2) – Only as good as the Scope
