God’s Blessings

 Blessing in the dictionary means approval and lucky thing.  Approval, sanction, permission, go-ahead, consent go-ahead, consent  Lucky thing, good thing, miracle, piece of good fortune, stroke of luck

We are going to study important truths about real blessings and how we can truly experience it. Three things we should remember:  What is God’s Blessing  Receiving the Blessing  Purposes of the Blessing

What is God’s Blessing God’s blessings encompass everything that speaks of God’s favor, provision, care, faithfulness, goodness and abundance. Blessing is a heavenly calling for an earthly purpose. Always remember that God’s agenda for you is to be BLESSED.

QUESTION: Who shall make you a great nation? The Answer is God. If the answer is God it shall be therefore through God’s wisdom and power that shall make you great.

Next the blessing is address towards a person. It speaks of Abraham. And if Abraham was blessed and if we are children of Abraham by faith we therefore should inherit the blessing. If Abraham was blessed shouldn’t we too be blessed?

 GE 28:4 “May He also give you the blessing of Abraham, to you and to your descendants with you, that you may possess the land of your sojourning, which God gave to Abraham.”

Receiving the Blessing Now we are His children how we can therefore receive the blessing.  PS 24:5 He shall receive a blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation.  EX 32:29 Then Moses said, “ Dedicate yourselves today to the LORD —for every man has been against his son and against his brother—in order that He may bestow a blessing upon you today.”

 DT 11:26 “ See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse:  DT 11:27 the blessing, if you listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, which I am commanding you today;  DT 28:8 “The LORD will command the blessing upon you in your barns and in all that you put your hand to, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you.

Purposes of Blessing When you ask something from God have you ever given it a thought why God should answer and give you what you have asked? Do you know why He did not give you what you have asked from Him? Think right now.

The answer is Purpose. Why will God bless you or us? For a purpose: Gen 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Whenever you ask blessings from God think of others. When you are blessed you shall bless others also. Give and it shall be given unto you. God wants you to be an instrument for blessing others.

God shall bless you. He shall increase what you have. He shall multiply more what He has increased. He shall bless you until your cup overflows so that you can bless others…
