2 “Entrepreneurship is the pursuit of opportunities beyond the resources you currently control” (Prof. Howard Stevenson, Harvard Business School) Entrepreneurship is not necessarily about SMEs – but it is about growth, creativity and innovation. Innovative entrepreneurs start companies, they spin out companies from univesities or corporations, they restructure companies – they share a primary objective – growth.

3 Enormous role of universities in the Europe of knowledge Entrepreneurial universities – being the birthplace of high technology spin-offs is not enough to achieve this attribute. Behaving entrepreneurially, being innovative in its programmes, research, management, engaging in institutional development, and being able to make money aside from government resources, would be some further characteristics of an entrepreneurial university.

7 To foster research and teaching in the the field of entrepreneurship at UNS, Serbia and the Balkans To facilitate the sharing of good practice in teaching, research, training and LLL To strenghten links with external stakeholders

8 Goals of the Conference: To exchange experiences in developing curricula, teaching methods, training programmes and learn from each other To promote entrepreneurship teaching and research in the Region To create a critical mass of entrepreneurshi teachers and trainers - to use human resources jointly and develop joint programmes and a reagional pool of teaching and training staff

9 Goals- cont. To strenghten SENSI network – network of regional business and innovation centres supported by ATA To work on implementation of the conclusions and action plans of the Working groups after the Conference. ATA has a budget to support realization of action plans for those participating universities that have good ideas/ follow-up plans – organizing local workshops with regional and international experts to put these plans into practice.
