When From the 28 th of April to the 2 nd of May at Stackpole for a week.

Who Most of year 5 except from a couple of people that didn’t go.

Why We went to Stackpole to get our John Muir award.

John Muir award For the John Muir award we had to discover, explore, conserve and share to get our John Muir award.

Explore We explored the lakes when we went pond dipping. We also explored the nature and the homes of a hermit crab, a shore crab and also discovered the home of a weird looking starfish. We discovered a badgers trail and saw a swan guarding its nest, and her mate patrolling the lake so there was no teenagers causing trouble, so his mate could guard the babies back at their nest.

Conserving For conserving we had to help ‘a wild place’. We removed some pheasant berry and brambles to help the environment. This helped other plants to keep growing. We helped to maintain the environment at Stackpole.

Discovering We discovered flying rabbit holes at the edge of a cliff, this stops the foxes slaughtering the rabbits. We also discovered some Guillemots. The Guillemots are birds that look like penguins.
