What is Groundwater Ground water is water that comes from precipitation, and it is found in the ground. Mostly ground water is clean, but it can become polluted.

Groundwater and the Water Cycle Water on Earth evaporates, it travels up to the atmosphere forming clouds. The clouds continue to condense until they are so heavy that they can’t stay in the sky any more. The water then falls to Earth in the form of rain, sleet, hail, or snow.

Kids Protecting Groundwater Kids can pick up litter, encourage friends and family to recycle, design posters to educate the community on groundwater and how to protect it.

Conserving Water There are several things you, your friends and family can do to conserve water. First thing, don’t let the water run while you are brushing your teeth. Next, if there is a leaky faucet, tell an adut so they can fix it. Also, try to limit your shower time to five minutes, and cut baths all together.

My Pledge to Help Protect Groundwater I promise to turn the water off while brushing my teeth. I will also always pick up trash to avoid groundwater contamination. I will help spread the word to my friends and family about protecting groundwater whenever I can.
