Sabaflex – Stretch it

The problem of broken seams… … and how to avoid it! Seam - Elongation

 Sewing thread Sewing thread Influential criteria:  Stitch density Stitch density  Stitch type Stitch type

Due to its physiological properties, synthetic threads offer a higher elasticity than threads made of natural fibres like cotton (max. 5 %). Therefore synthetic threads adopt in mosts cases perfectly to the requests in regard of extension at break, seam strength and rub fastness.  Sewing thread Seam - Elongation

Amount of thread in the seam (storage) Correct tension setting (stitch balance) Seam - Elongation  Stitch Type

The more stitches in the seam, the more thread will be consummate and therefore more elasticity is achieved. Seam - Elongation  Stitch density

Characteristics of the seam: -Uniform appearance of the seam -Seam is extremely elastic -Seam feels soft on the skin Seam - Elongation Correct Adjusted Needle Thread Tension (ex. Stitch type 602)

Characteristics of the undone seam: Seam - Elongation -The needle thread loops appear as ball points on the back of the fabric, they are uniform and just visible -Even after undoing the looper thread, the appearance is uniform and regular. Correct Adjusted Needle Thread Tension (ex. Stitch type 602)

Characteristics of the seam: Seam - Elongation Needle Thread Tension is too high and irregular- due to poor sliding properties of inferior thread used. -Needle thread loops are only partly visible and are interlocked too tight into the fabric. -Irregular optical appearance. -Due to these irregularities, the seam cannot be stretched to the maximum. There is a risk of seam blast.

Characteristics of the undone seam: -Needle thread loops jump jack into the centre of the fabric after undoing the seam. -Bad optical appearance. Seam - Elongation Needle Thread Tension is irregular- due to poor sliding properties of inferior thread used.

-needle thread tension is irregular Seam - Elongation Seam With Cover Thread Seam breakages due to: -too much seam extension

Sabaflex – Stretch it The Innovative Solution:

an innovative elastic sewing thread made of new material for highly elastic seams Sabaflex is... has an increased seam elasticity by approx. 40% compared to a standard sewing thread with ticket No. 120 very elastic – nevertheless it can still be used to sew lock stitch The Innovative Solution:

Applications: bathing suits sports wear Lingerie functional wear bed sheets seat covers medical textiles The Innovative Solution:

Maximum elasticity of seams in stretch fabrics Minimized danger of seam breakage through overstretching Lower sewing thread requirement because double chains stitch seams can be replaced with lock stitch seams (saving: approx. 42%) Design advantages: –Decorative and topstitching seams can be sewn using lock stitch –Variable design: seam beginning and seam end are secured by back tacks Main product advantages: The Innovative Solution:

Available in two tickets: Sabaflex 80 and 120 Material:PTT(Poly-Trimethylen-Terephthalat) Construction:multi filament, 3 plies Linear Density (dtex)194 (ticket 80) or 98 (ticket 120) Elongation at break (%)app. 70 % Tensile strength (cN)app cN (ticket 80) app. 710 cN (ticket 120) Yield / kgapp m (ticket 80) or app m (ticket 120) Main technical data: The Innovative Solution:
