2 Basic Ideas Using information extracted from bit- stream data, it may be possible to develop better perceptual models in term of speed and accuracy. Many difficult problems (registration, transmission error) can be efficiently addressed.

3 Advantages All transmission errors can be accurately identified along with their effects. Registration is not a problem. Fast and efficient.
