 Medical Lab Scientists work in hospital labs and reference labs to perform tests on patient specimens to assist in diagnosis.  They perform tests on blood, tissue, and body fluids and analyze results.  They are the first step in patient diagnosis. 2

 Apply for the ASU/PC medical laboratory science program  A 15 month hybrid program to get you where you want to me in the laboratory field  Accredited by NCCLS  Affordable because of the partnership with ASU and Phoenix College ealthsciences/medical-laboratory/brochure.pdf 4

 The ASU/PC program requires 90 Phoenix College credits and 30 ASU credits  More affordable than a 4 year degree program at any university 5

 Expected 14% growth between 2008 and 2018  Median wage in 2010 was $56,130 with a range of $47,130 to $66,370  Jobs range from tech to management to specialist in a particular field (ex: Microbiology)  Projected shortage of 25% for medical lab scientists by 2016, meaning a lot of new job openings! 6
