Fabric Address Management MIB New name for: Domain Manager MIB Internet-Draft is still called: –draft-desanti-fc-domain-manager-02.txt Contains two MIB modules: –T11-TC-MIB for TC’s useful in multiple of forthcoming FC MIBs only one so far: FabricIndex –T11-FABRIC-ADDR-MGR-MIB covers functionality in an FC switch, specifically: acquiring DomainID(s), as specified in FC-SW-3, and managing FC_IDs, as specified in FC-FS.

FAM-MIB content Six MIB-groups: –basic per-switch/per-Fabric information –Database of assigned domains –which PortIDs assigned in areas of local domain –cache of recently released FC_IDs (for best- effort re-assignment to same port) –commands (only one: to initiate a Fabric Restart) –three notifications: assignment failed; new principal switch; fabric change (RCF/BF)

FAM-MIB Index-ing All tables INDEX-ed by: –fcmInstanceIndex & fcmSwitchIndex via IMPORTS from FCMGMT-MIB –FabricIndex for FC-SW-3, will always equal 1 for (emerging) FC-SW-4, will identify a Fabric

FAM-MIB Status T11 Letter Ballot on third version –Y38-N02-A12 Latest (fifth) version has been edited with agreed resolutions to all comments submitted with No votes –still needs final approval

Name Server MIB Internet-Draft is : –draft-desanti-fc-name-server-02.txt T11-FC-NAME-SERVER-MIB –the Database of registered Nx_Ports and the information registered with/about them –statistics (queries, registrations, failures, etc.) –Notification defined for a rejected registration command & reject-reason for most recent reject saved in MIB (per-port)

NSM-MIB INDEX-ing INDEX-ing still under discussion Primary issue is that FC standards describe having one Name Server (per fabric): –implementation is often distributed, e.g., on each switch –does MIB need to represent registered info on a per- location basis? –statistics+state are different at different locations. Latest draft has: –fcmInstanceIndex & fcmNsIndex – likely to change –and FabricIndex for registration info, stats & rejects

T11 Letter Ballot on second version –Y38-N02-A12 (the same as FAM-MIB) Latest (fourth) version has been edited with some agreed resolutions Conference call last week –closed a few more comments, but –on INDEX-ing, resolution is at least as far away as it was before the call. NSM-MIB Status
