UNECE TIMBER COMMITTEE Fifty-ninth session 2-5 October 2001 Teams of specialists: principles Realistic planning and commitment of resources when drawing up the mandate If problems arise, secretariat contacts team leader, then bureaux/parent bodies to take necessary decisions (e.g. more resources, reformulate mandate, terminate team) Secretariat not to replace team inputs Ensure satisfactory monitoring and guidance (=> limits on number of teams? 8 at present)

UNECE TIMBER COMMITTEE Fifty-ninth session 2-5 October 2001 The Timber Committee and the EFC bureau are invited: To review every aspect of the review process To endorse the results (modified if considered necessary) and authorise the secretariat and the bureaux to implement them
