Image conversion What is the purpose of image conversion? Image conversion allows you to save an image from one format to another Each format will give different properties for each file and hence they are used for different applications
Image conversion When you have completed a drawing in SolidWorks you can save it in a number of different formats The most common of these are:.SLDPRT.SLDASM.SLDDRW
Image conversion However it is possible to save the file as a JPEG for example in SolidWorks by doing the following In the “File” menu select “Save As” When the “Save As” dialog box appears select the drop down menu on the “Save as type” to find the JPEG format

Once your drawing has being saved as a JPEG you can they insert it into Microsoft Word, Excel, Presentation, Publisher, etc… when compiling documents reports
Image conversion To convert an image from one format to another, a software package that you can edit the image in is needed e.g. Microsoft Paint, Microsoft Picture It!, Paint Shop Pro
These options here allow you to edit and change your picture
Image Conversion To convert an image from one format to another click on “Save As” in the “File” menu as described before
Image Conversion The “Save as” dialog box opens and you can save to a location you desire To save the file in a different format click on the “Save As Type” drop down menu

Now you Try! Using a drawing that you have already created in SolidWorks convert it to JPEG and then copy it into Microsoft Word or Publisher and create a Flyer giving information about the drawing
