Benefits of the Program This program can help assist children with: Weight Control Reducing Blood Pressure Reducing the risks of diabetes Improved physiologic well-being (more self confidence and self-esteem)

GOAL AHA recommends children have at least 60 minutes of moderate/intense physical activity per day, physical inactivity is a major risk factor for developing coronary artery disease so the goal of this program is to: To offer a group of about children in the after school program the technology and equipment necessary to get physically active in a fun and safe environment to help prevent these risk factors.

Childhood Obesity According to AHA nearly 1 out of every 3 children is either overweight or obese a number which has tripled since Childhood obesity is causing a number of health problems that previously were not seen until adulthood such as: Type 2 Diabetes and Raised Cholesterol Not only physically defects but also childhood obesity can cause some mental effects as well such as: Depression and negative body image

FitBit Zip Activity Tracker FitBit Activity tracker is perfect for children and this program. It monitors steps taken, calories burned, and active minutes. This allows the students to keep track from their Fitbit which also syncs to smart phones and computers to begin logging the activity. Also water proof and clips easily to clothing

Sports Equipment The sports Equipment allows the children to play a variety of games and different activities daily they will not be stuck with the same games everyday Games such as: Basketball, soccer, kickball, jump rope, dodgeball, volley ball etc..

Circuit Program Circuit Program is a perfect way to get the kids active You can make it a race or just an individual workout 6 stations of various workouts The different workouts could include a jumping circuit: jump ropes, plyo trainer, and spots Hand Eye coordination circuit: Cup stacking, juggling Agility and Balance Circuit: Hurdles, cones, and a balance disk All circuits are a good way to get the kids active and competitive as well.

Wii Sports/Wii Fit Wii Sports/Fit gives the kids a chance to get active while playing games. Wii helps improve hand eye coordination and gets kids active rather than just sitting down Balance Coordination Endurance
