 There are two high school graduation plans Recommended High School Program (RHSP) Distinguished Achievement Program (DAP)

 4 credits English  4 credits Math  4 credits Science  4 credits Social Studies  2 credits Languages other than English  1 credit Fine Art  1 credit PE  ½ credit Speech  5 ½ credits of Electives Total 26 total credits to graduate

In addition to the credit requirements, four advanced measures must be completed from the following: 1. A score of 3 or above on a College Board Advance Placement Exam. 2. A score on the PSAT test that qualifies the student for recognition as a commended scholar or higher by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Cooperation. 3. College academic courses including those taken for dual credit and advanced technical credit courses with a grade of “B” or higher. 4. Original Research and or project.

Grade Point Average  Cumulative of all courses taken in high school  Calculated on 4.0 and 6.0 scale  Challenging courses receive higher grade points (PAP/AP/DC) Class Rank  Calculated based upon the 6.0 grading scale  A measure of student’s performance in comparison to other students in the class. Colleges consider GPA and class rank in their admissions process.

Credit by Exam (CBE) – no prior instruction  Given in the summer as well as during school year  $25 refundable deposit.  Must score 80% or higher to receive credit Credit Recovery Exam – with prior instruction  Failing grade must have been between to qualify  $25 non-refundable fee  Must score 70% or higher to recover credit. Compass Learning  Online credit recovery program  Students can work from home or in the lab on campus  70% passing will recover credit  Not recommended for student athletes wanting to play sports in college.

College Entrance exams are: SAT – apply at ACT – apply at TSI – Texas Success Initiative, placement test for community colleges and needed for placement on the university level as well If you are eligible for free/reduced lunch you will be eligible for fee waivers for the following: SAT, ACT, NCAA Clearinghouse and some college applications It is recommended you take these exams in the spring semester

 NCAA determines students’ eligibility to participate in sports in their first years in a university or college.  NCAA works with Division I and Division II institutions, by reviewing the student athlete's academic record, SAT or ACT scores, and amateur status to ensure conformity with NCAA rules.  In the Spring of Junior year, transcript and test scores should be sent to NCAA  NCAA suggest registering the beginning of Sophomore year
