Dradjad Wibowo (50 yrs) earned his graduate degree from the Department of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) Indonesia. He was awarded the Best Graduate of the Faculty of Agriculture in the June 1987 graduation. He earned his Master of Economics and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the Department of Economics, the University of Queensland, Australia. Since 1999 Dradjad Wibowo has written over 250 articles on economic and banking policies in leading newspapers and magazines in Indonesia. His views on the Indonesian economy appear very frequently in Indonesian press, including printed and electronic media, radio and TV. He briefly joined PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk, a leading Indonesian state bank, as a Member of the Board of Commissioners from December 2003 to May 2004 to help restructuring the bank following its US$ 170 million-letter of credit scandal. From September 1999 to February 2004 he worked as Director and a Senior Economist at the Institute for Development Economics and Finance (INDEF), a leading policy think tank in Indonesia. He was also the Executive Director of the Indonesian Eco-labeling Institute (LEI) from May 2000 to February 2004.

He was elected as Alternate Spokesperson for the Producing Countries Caucus of the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) in ITTO meeting in Panama, November In early 2000s he served as a member/a spokesperson of the Republic of Indonesia delegation to various international organizations such as ITTO, Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), and Asian Forestry Partnership. From 2002-October 2004 he served as an expert member of the National Food Security Board. In July-August 2002 he chaired a National Team on Domestic Debt Reduction, focusing on alternative policies to reduce domestic debt stock and to minimize debt service payments on banking recapitalization bonds. He joined the National Mandate Party (Partai Amanat Nasional – PAN) in January He was elected as a Member of Parliament in 2004 and sat on the Banking and Finance Committee for the period of He also served as PAN’s Vice-Chairperson on economic policies in the House of Representatives, and was a leading ‘mover and shaker” for key economic legislations and policies adopted by the House. In January 2010, he was elected as the Vice-Chairman of PAN’s Central Executive Board.

He founded Sustainable Development Indonesia (SDI) in 2009 to foster implementation of sustainable development. In 2011 he founded and chaired the Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation (IFCC) to promote certification of sustainable forests and forest products based on Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Scheme (PEFC). He currently works independently as a private consultant and/or a senior (internal) advisor in banking and capital market, corporate finance, and merger/acquisition for a number of leading corporate groups. He handles mainly European and East Asian markets and instruments.
