Dead Words Project

1.You will create a “cemetery” themed poster to present your word as dead and to demonstrate your new replacement words. 2.You will write an epitaph to say goodbye to your word. What is an epitaph? It is a humorous little poem that one would find engraved on a tombstone. This poem should be at least 4 lines and should have a rhyme scheme of aabb. Here is an example:

Here lies the body of our Anna (A) Done to death by a banana; (A) It wasn’t the fruit that laid her low (B) But the skin of the thing that made her go (B)

3. You MUST include at least 5 vivid synonyms that show different ways your dead word was used. In other words, if there are several ways your word is used, you need to give a synonym for each of those ways. If it has fewer than five uses, give more than one synonym for each way.

4. All words should be BOLD and LARGE so it is “seeable.” 5.No cutting out printed words and simply placing them on your poster. It should look good and be creative, not sloppy and thrown together willy nilly. Have fun with it and make it cool!!!! POSTER EXAMPLES:

However, you need to write an epitaph to say goodbye to your word.
