Nuclear power

Lesson Starter Write down any information you know about the use of nuclear power. Do you think nuclear power is a good idea and should be used?

Computer activity Each person in your group will research a different aspect of nuclear power. You must write notes on your topic as you will become the teacher and will have to tell your group members the information you have found. All members of the group will have to complete a question sheet on the information so it is important you listen carefully and take notes

1.How is nuclear power used to produce energy? 2.What are the advantages of nuclear power 3.What are the disadvantages of nuclear power 4.How much energy it can produce compared to the fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas)?

Lesson Starter Read over your notes from the last lesson. You have to try and learn them off by heart!!

Learning intentions: Learn keys facts about nuclear power Success Criteria: 1.Successfully teach your information on nuclear power to your peers. 2.Listen to others carefully and take notes on new information. 3.Complete a question sheet on the new information gained

Activity Each person will take a turn to teach the other members of their group the information they have collected. Group members must take notes as they listen. You must then fill in a sheet with all the information you can remember.
