Mount Everest is part of the Himalayas mountain range in Asia and is the biggest mountain in the world! Mount Everest is so big it is the size of 20 Empire State Buildings.

Mount Everest was formed 60 million years ago and is still standing at 8,850 metres.

Mount Everest was named after Sir George Everest, a Surveyor in 1865.

The temperature of Mount Everest can be 100 degrees fahrenheight, but a climber is most likely to expect -15 degrees fahrenheight.

The first people to climb Mount Everest were Tenzing Norgay Sherpa of Nepal & Edmund Percival Hillary of New Zealand on May 29 th 1953.

There has been approximately 4,000 people who have attempted climbing Mount Everest, but sadly not all of them have survived.

A plant called Allium grows on Mount Everest, it is a creamy white flower and is upright spiky.

There are only a few animals living on Mount Everest because there is not much for them to feed on, these are the animals a Euophrys Omnisuperstes, which is known as a minute black jumping spider, birds, such as the bar-headed goose and the Chough, who is known to feed on climbers crumbs and leftovers.
