Instructions: Each of you are to be partnered up. Each of you are to silently write down the answer to the question at the top of the slide. At the end, you and your partner will compare to see if you wrote the same things.

Religion Religion: in many cultures religion helps people answer basic questions about life’s meanings. The big 5 we will study in the weeks ahead are: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam (Muslim), Judaism.

Daily Life Daily life: Foods, and how they are eaten. Some people eat with forks, some with forks, some chopsticks, other hands.

History History helps people remember the successes they share. (Think for sports, for example). We celebrate Holidays, due to history. Disaster and defeat also affect how people see themselves. (Think 9-11)

Arts People express their culture through the Arts. What is art???? Look at this picture….Is this art? Examples: pick 3: Paintings, sculptures, architecture, dance, music, theater, and literature.

Government The kind of government, or political system, a society has reflects is culture. Monarchy- Kings and Queens Dictators- Take control through force Democracy- people of the country hold the power
