Family background Kevin Systrom was born on December 30, He was born in Holliston, Massachusetts. He was born to Diane Systrom (a marketing executive) and Douglas Systrom (a president in human resources).

Childhood Kevin went to school at Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts. He was a very bright kid and was the top in his classes. Kevin got interested in programming when he played Doom 2 and created his own levels when he was a kid.

College Systrom graduated from Standford University in He earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Also, he was involved in the Mayfield Fellows Program, which is what gave him the idea of starting Instagram.

Before Instagram Before Instagram, Systrom worked for many other companies. -Odeo (a search engine for RSS-syndicated audio and video). -Google

Starting the Business Systrom is the co-founder of the social networking site, Instagram. He started the business along with the other co- founder, Mark Krieger.

Opening the Doors Instagram opened on October 6th, It was developed in San Francisco, California. This was the first time that Mike and Kevin opened the social network, and it was a success. Shayne Sweeney – engineer. Jessica Zollman – Community Evangelist.

Instagram Gaining Popularity Instagram started out with about 25,000 users. Kevin and Mike added hashtags to Instagram to look at other photographs and users in a much simpler manner. Instagram reached over 1 million ratings on Google Play.
