Mrs. Banos Team 7A Social Studies

Interesting info about Mrs. Banos I’ve been at Conyers Middle for 7 years. I’ve travelled to 5 of the world’s 7 continents. I was born and raised in Georgia. I am a die hard fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves.

Interesting Info about Mrs. Banos I played 2 sports in college: Softball and Soccer. I am the head softball coach at CMS. I sponsor soccer for boys and girls at CMS. I can speak Spanish and I am learning Portuguese.

What are the rules in Mrs. Banos’ class? 1. Show respect to everyone at all times. This includes the teacher, any guests, and other students. If you respect me, I will respect you. How you show respect: – Raise your hand before speaking or getting out of your seat. Permission is required before you can do either. – Do not talk when the teacher is talking to the class, if there is a visitor in the room, during a quiz or test, or if the phone rings. – Be polite and respectful of others and their things.

What are the rules in Mrs. Banos’ class? 2. You will be assigned a seat, and that is where you will sit every day. 3. No food or gum allowed in class. You may bring water as long as it is in a clear bottle with a top or lid. 4. Be on time to class. The schools’ tardy policy will be enforced in this room.

What are the rules in Mrs. Banos’ class? 5. You have the right to be happy or unhappy, angry or sad. What you do not have the right to do is interrupt class or cause disruptions. 6. Follow all school rules as outlined in the Discipline code. You will be going over this the first week of school.

What will we learn in this class? In this class, we will concentrate on three parts of the world- The Middle East, Africa, and Asia. We will cover: – Religions – Government systems – Economic Systems – History – Culture – Geography

What is our daily routine for this class? 1. After you enter the room, take the chance before the bell rings to sharpen your pencils and throw items in the trash. 2. Once the bell rings, begin work on your warm up. Everyday, you will have 3-4 essential questions to answer. The teacher will check these weekly for a quiz grade.

What is our daily routine for this class? 3. If there is homework, write it down in your agenda. The teacher will sign agendas daily. 4. Have your notebooks ready for class to begin. 5. At the end of class, you are not dismissed until the teacher dismisses you.

What kind of notebook will we need? You will need to purchase a 1 subject spiral notebook per semester. We will be keeping an interactive notebook in this classroom. Everything we do for the entire semester will be in there. We will keep a table of contents as a class, so all assignments are on a certain page.

What kind of notebook will we need? The notebooks will not leave the classroom. The teacher will show you where your notebooks will be picked up and dropped off at the end of each class day. Remember to bring your textbook and pens/pencils everyday to class.

Emergency Information In case of fire or fire drill, line up single file. We will exit through the top of the hallway and turn left, towards the parking lot. In case of a tornado drill, we will move all desks away from the brick walls. In case of code red or code black, all talking is to cease immediately. You will not be allowed to leave until the all clear is given.
