mark both sides of the card between the AB holes if not already done label the holes ABCD Prepare cards Number cards from 1-30 in pencil

A B C D RLRRRRLLLL border RL pattern area x 24 cards

Winding the warp 1. Position 2 C clamps desired distance apart 2. Wind the number of ends for the pattern area around the clamp 24 x 4 = 96; 48 light, 48 dark 3. Remove all threads from clamp at one end, cut and thread 4. Wind border threads as above, cut one end, and thread 6 x 4 = 24, all dark

Thread ½ the cards back to front (R on threading chart) Thread ½ the cards front to back (L on threading chart)

Warp attached to stationary object Warp attached to clamps on table 7. Reposition clamps to ensure warp tension is even and tight Alternatively: knot both ends (keep far end of border threads in a separate knot) tie a strong cord to each end attach to a stationary object (ie. doorknob and chair) 5. Straighten all ends, tie the pattern ends in one overhand knot at the end. Place over clamp 6. Tie the border ends in a reef knot around end of clamp
