Snowman Building Contest Misawa, Japan February 2012

Magic in the Snow… In front of the 35 th FW Hqs lies Risner Circle, piled high with just the right amount of snow and with the consistency needed to create works of art! Eight private organizations took part in sculpting masterpieces!

Taking Shape … Shovel, roll, lift, form and eventually the creations take form. Creativity was the name of the game this day as snowman like we’ve never seen before came to life!

Special Touches … Each snowman had it’s own identity and stood guard around Risner Circle watching over those that passed by.

Finished Projects … Each group was especially proud of their final object d’snow and based on the number of cars that slowed down as they passed many others were impressed as well!

The Builders & Winners … The Judges: Col Griffin 35 SPTG/CC, CMSgt Laurent & Terri 35 FW/CCC, SMSgt Josephson AFN Det Superintendent, Mr. Vasalech & Gabby AAFES GM were especially tough but awarded: 1 st Prize of $250 to The Comm Rockers, Maintenance Instructors; 2 nd Prize of $150 to Misawa Theatre Company; and 3 rd Prize of $100 went to the LRS, AFSA, PDK, MOS group. It was a great time for ALL!!! EXTRA Special thanks to the Exchange who provided hot coffee & hot chocolate, plus eight $25 gift cards and 80 theater passes!
