Have you ever… Read an autobiography? Written a letter? Sent an ? Looked at a leaflet? Given a speech? Watched an advert on TV? Challenge: Which of these texts are non- fiction? How do you know? 1. Which of these type of texts have you come across before? 2. Which of these text types do you prefer? 3. Why do you prefer this text type? PLC Skill: Identify conventions of form

Definition Task: Without using a dictionary, can you come up with a definition of the word fiction? What does non fiction mean? If you need to use a dictionary, that is fine! Make sure you write the definition in your own words. PLC Skill: Identify conventions of form
