3 Unemployment can cause more Taxes on people. Increase in the prices of daily needs. Makes life harder for those who are working.

4 Have been connected to areas with Higher crime rates. Give people an excuse to not work.

5 Checks are given to provide temporary help. Only given to those who meet requirements. Unemployment rate in MA is 9.4% Has risen 1.6%

6 Northeast Average Unemployment rate was 8.4% Pacific and East North central had had largest unemployment jumps. The West had highest rate ever recorded

7 In 2009 all region had a decrease in employment population ratio. West -3.3, Mid-west -3.1, South -2.7 North-east -2.2

8 All states had a decrease in Employment ratios 4 of 50 states dropped more than 4% West Virginia had the lowest at 61.8

9 Students must plan ahead for careers based on availability More student join the military to avoid unemployment. Even with a Degree work can be hard to find

10 Businesses laid people off to cut budgets and stay open. Teachers, and Police officers, were only some affected. This affects education and the safety of society.

11 The Country’s economic distress The War on Terror Welfare is said to contribute to long term unemployment. Unemployment insurance does this too.
