Feedback from Administrators

Why did you agree to let NBCTs work with the resident teachers without your direct supervision? "It sends a message of solidarity and trust…that can yield more authentic results.” "No matter how strong our relationship is with our teachers we are still their evaluators…They will freely talk to another teacher.” "I trust in the instructional expertise of my NBCT. This…is inspiring and motivating."

What are the advantages to using the Teaching Channel and video to improve practice? "It is more convincing when the teacher can observe their practices in action vs. being provided evidence through an observer's eyes…Teachers are more likely to take notice when they can actually hear their language during instruction."

What would you like the role of video in teacher observation and evaluation to look like in the future? “Recorded lesson are invaluable to all teachers no matter where they are in their careers.” “That teachers be given the option to submit a video of their teaching for their observation... I'd like to use the ability to comment during specific moments in the video that I'd like to flag as evidence for criteria within a component.”
