About St. Faustina - born on August 25, in her early life she aimed to be an imitation of Jesus’ life- a sacrifice, a life lived for others - around the age of 20, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, whose members dedicate themselves to helping troubled young women - she received her religious name, Sister Maria Faustina, a year after joining the Congregation - in the 1930's, Sister Faustina received from the Lord a message of mercy that she was told to spread throughout the world - she was asked to become the apostle of God's mercy, a model of how to be merciful to others, and an instrument for reemphasizing God's plan of mercy for the worldapostle

St. Faustina’s later years - her later years at the convent were filled with extraordinary gifts, such as revelations, visions, hidden stigmata, participation in the Passion of the Lord, the reading of human souls, and the gift of bilocation (appearing to be located in two places at once) - the revelations saw by Saint Faustina were recorded into notebooks - those notebooks are known as Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, and the words contained within are God's loving message of Divine Mercy - St. Faustina sparked a huge movement focused on the mercy of Christ and how we could spread God’s mercy - St. Faustina, exhausted by tuberculosis, died in the convent in Krakow-Lagiewniki, on 5 th October Saint John Paul the second canonized Sister Faustina in 2000, making her “the first saint of the new millennium”

Why Saint Faustina? I believe that Saint Faustina is the perfect saint to name our Tri-Parish because she is inspiring. She dedicated her whole life to spreading Christ’s mercy through the world. By naming our Tri-Parish cluster after her, we could also be sharers of God’s mercy through the world. This year, 2016, is the Church’s year of mercy. If we were to name our Parish after someone who had a huge impact of mercy, we could be similar ro her. St. Faustina is a wonderful role model for everyone in the Church and school community.
