Why We Did The Add… There are many reasons that we did a magazine add for this assignment. By doing a contest in a magazine you are attaching and putting out a certain person or group and attaching there name to much more then you may see. Our add attaches Lindsay Lohan to music, shopping, style, movies, and lots of cool cloths. This makes her appealing to her female audience more then anything, but it can also appeal to her male audience because of the fact that you will be meeting her and hanging out with her. Now who doesn’t want to meet someone famous? Seriously even if you are a guy you get her cloths then you give them as a present to your girlfriend, or you could frame them (that’s kind of creepy though, don’t you think?).

Continued… Anyway you look at it this add appeals to both male’s and females. So no matter what way you look at it the star sells the add, but the add also helps to sell the star. What I mean is now that you put someone out there people will read it and wonder who she is and what is so important about her that you would want to hang out with her at the mall? This is what catches peoples attention and gets them to look for more about her, do you get what I’m saying? It’s just like when your looking through a magazine and you see one of your favourite superstars your more likely to read it, in this case you see more and more about her and when before you wouldn’t have noticed her name in a magazine now when you see it you may want to read all you can about her because she now interests you.

Continued… Another way to sell the star is that we are giving away money for whoever wins to go shopping, even though whoever wins may not like that certain star so much they may still want to win just because of the shopping spree. In this way they will still be getting to know the star because they will be spending time with them and may get to know them in ways that they never thought they would. So as you can read its not only the star that sells the add it can be the add that sells the star. Will you look at all adds the same now as you did before or will you take the time to explore those unknown stars selling things to sell themselves? Its your choice, so make a good one.
