Graphic Selection OSSLT Prep

TIPS: Graphics are important visuals that convey information. Look at the graphics to determine what information is being presented aside from the written text.

Attention Look at the title first – usually the largest font – to identify the topic and type of document (i.e., map, glossary, index, schedule)

Boxes Look at the Layout Textboxes, boxes, lines, shapes, lines, columns Look at Print Features Titles, captions, subject-related words, and graphics to identify the topic Looks at the Pointers Bullets, numbering, punctuation, bold or underlines & italics text, arrows, logos, footnotes
