WHEN AND WHY? Senator Gaylord Nelson sponsored the Federal Legislation that established Apostle Islands in 1971.

SPECIAL LANDFORMS Rock Arches Large Cliffs Humongous Bays Caves & Caverns Big Forests Gargantuan Plains

HOW THE PARK WAS FORMED The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore was formed by Weathering and Erosion. Because of its natural caves, cliffs, and arches, you can see the park was probably formed by Water eroding away the rock.

ROCKS I checked Many websites, and I did not find much information on what types of rocks. One thing that Every single website I checked had in common was that they all said that Apostle Islands was abundant in thin Sandstone.

HOW APOSTLE ISLANDS IS CURRENTLY CHANGING Like everywhere else, Apostle Islands is affected by Global Warming, which causes Climate Change. It is also being affected by sustainability problems.

TECHNOLOGY There were multiple wires and Radio Towers, but I couldn’t find any technology usage at Apostle Islands.

ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES An Environmental Issue is too many people are moving Non-Native Species to the Lakeshore, causing Park Closures.
