Tomball Independent School District 2014 Parent Selection Realignment Zones
General Information The Tomball Independent School District worked with a demographic consultant and jointly developed options for attendance boundaries. Options were brought to the committee for review and discussion. Committee-reviewed options were posted on the Tomball Independent School District website. The selected boundary option as chosen by the Realignment Committee was made public via school district website.
Attendance Zone Realignment Committee Breakdown Realignment committee – When the district deems it is necessary to look at realignment, a study committee will be formed to review the present alignment and to make any necessary recommended changes to the Tomball Independent School District Board of Trustees. The 2014 Realignment Committee was comprised of the following individuals: Non-Voting Superintendent Chief Administrative Officer– Facilitator Tomball Independent School District Board Member Demographic Consultant Transportation Supervisor – Routing Coordinator Director of Communications Voting Chief Academic Officer Chief Financial Officer Executive Director of Ancillary Services Executive Director of Special Services Executive Director of Grades 7-12 Executive Director of Grades PK-6 Director of Administrative Services Director of Transportation Grade Group Principals Parents / 5 zones / 2 parents each zone / 2 “At-Large” – 12 Total Parents
. Attendance Zone Realignment Committee Goals A ) Populate the new campuses of Wildwood Elementary, Creekview Elementary, and Oakcrest Intermediate, along with Creekside Park Jr. High. B) Balance the enrollment at other campuses in the district. C) Establish clear, logical, and practical boundaries for feeder patterns.
Realignment Criteria The following factors were considered when developing recommendations for the realignment of attendance zone changes. A) What is best for the students of Tomball Independent School District B) The geographical proximity of students to schools is important. Efforts will be made to minimize driving time and driving distance C) Transportation – routing issues D) School capacities E) Enrollment projections F) Attendance zone build-out – homes, multi-family G) Input from community, including and written correspondence. H) The use of thoroughfares, creeks, easement and other structures for delineating changes The recommendations were not based on any singular issue, but were based on all relevant information.
Committee Meetings Meetings were open for observation, with the selected committee conducting all business. Time was allocated at the end of each meeting for comments from audience members, or they may have completed a card to submit their comments. All committee minutes and public comments, along with planning scenarios, were distributed to the committee members and posted on the website at a later date.

“Grandfathering” Transfer Recommendations to the Tomball I.S.D. Board of Trustees
CFES students rezoned to TCES for the school year include the subdivisions of: Carlton WoodsPaloma GrovePaloma CoveCinnamon Run Paloma BendTunica PassLake Voyageur Families with students in grade 6 during the school year that have been rezoned to TCES will have the following options for transitioning: Stay at CFES and any younger siblings can remain at CFES for the school year only without bus services. Stay at CFES without bus services, but siblings will attend TCES with bus services. All students of a family move to TCES with bus services.
TCES students rezoned to Creekview Elementary (CES) for the school year include the following area: The TCES attendance area west of Kuykendahl Road Families with students in grade 6 during the school year will have the following options for transitioning with bus services: Stay at TCES and any younger siblings can remain at TCES for the school year only. Stay at TCES, but younger siblings will attend CES.
WWJH and TMHS students rezoned to Tomball JH and Tomball HS for the school year include the following areas: Boudreaux Estates and any other areas north of the Grand Parkway Areas west of Telge Road and south of the Grand Parkway Families with students in grades 8 – 12 during the school year will have the following one time option for transitioning without bus services: Stay within the individual child’s current feeder pattern until graduation. No exemptions will be made for younger siblings.
