 Causes : Territorial expansion of North American colonies.  Effects: Great Britain's need for financial support from North American colonies.

 A meeting in Philadelphia to consider ways of reddressing colonial grievances.  Georgia was not in attendance.

 British parliament passed first ever tax on colonies in an attempt to raise revenue for crown.

 Regulated paper money in the colonies.

 Required certain colonies to provide food and quarters for British troops.

 Mandated the use of stamped paper or the affixing of stamps, certifying payment of tax.
