Danny Lyon
Born March 16 th 1942 in Brooklyn, New York. Studied history at the University of Chicago and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Self taught as a photographer; “New Journalism”
Civil Rights Movement In 1962, joined the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) as a staff photographer while he was still a student. Documented the segregated South during the Civil Rights Movement. Arrested along with other SNCC members just one week after arriving in the South.
