They had a daughter, Dr. Eraka Patty Jene Bath!

She was the first African- American woman to successfully remove the cataract lenses, and cure blindness. She invented the Laserphaco Probe

In 1964 she graduated from Hunter College. She then attended Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Bath graduated from Howard University of Medicine. And to pay off for her hard work, she was the first person to successfully remove the cataract lenses!

1. First African- American woman to successfully remove the cataract lenses. 2. She broke ground for African- American women in a number of places 3. No other woman had served on the staff of the Jules Stein Eye Institute! (continued#3) 4. Or been selected to the honorary staff of the UCLA Medical Center! 5. And first African-American to invent the Laserphaco Probe! (obvious)

Patricia is still alive today at age 72, and healthy.
