THE NEW DEAL BY: SARAH GRACE BOUDREAUX, CONNER ELLIOTT, COBY LACEFIELD, AND KASON WATSON

PUBLIC HOUSING ADMINISTRATION (PHA)  This administration provides apartments for the workers.  The location of the administration will be in Galveston, Texas.  The workers will build houses for people in Hoover Villes. They will also help restore Galveston after the hurricane  The workers pay will be the apartments and also get $10 per week. If they aren’t giving their 100% during work they will be warned that they may lose their apartments.

EMPLOYMENT  If the workers have family they are allowed to live with them in the apartments  The workers will be paid $10 for extra supplies like food, soap, and any extra materials needed.  The workers will work Monday – Saturday and have Sunday off.  They will be scheduled to be at work from 8 am – 7 pm.  For everyday they miss $0.50 will be cut off of their paycheck.  The top worker for the Public House Administration of the month will have $0.50 added to their paycheck.

CHURCH HOURS  For the people who are Christians for the Public House Administration can go to Church on Sunday mornings and nights. Also Wednesday nights.  Thursday nights are special Church hours for other religions.  These church hours will be from 7:30 – 9:30. (they can Arrive late if needed, due to work.)

SOCIAL LIFE  The workers of the Public House Administration may go out to eat with their families but their curfew is 10:00 PM every day besides Wednesday. On Wednesday the curfew will be 12:00 AM.  They only have curfews on weekdays they can stay out as long as they want on weekends.  They have to be on property by their curfew time. But they can still stay up in their room.  NO PARTIES IN THE APPARMENTS!  They can have birthday parties with our permission if they don’t get out of hand.

WORK  The workers will build houses and apartments for people in Hoover Villes.  The workers will also help restore Galveston, Texas and surrounding areas after the hurricane.  The Public Housing Administration will first be funded by the Government, then we will make the money by selling the houses/apartments.  The money from the workers restoring Galveston will be paid from the Government because we are restoring the “New York of Texas.”

ADVERTISEMENT  We will put posters up in all main towns in Texas for the workers.  There will also be Public House Administration posters in all Hoovervilles so the people in Hoovervilles will be able to apply for the houses/ apartments.  Because the people in Hoovervilles live there becase they cannot afford houses the houses we build will have to be cheap.

OVERVIEW  The managers from the Public House Administration feel that the administration will be successful.  This organization will help President Roosevelt pull the United States out of the Great Depression.  The PHA will be very successful in the 1933 era.
