Procedures and Rules Mr. Doolittle’s Class

 Procedure: how we do the everyday things in a classroom.  Rules –get you in trouble if you break them These are a few of the more important rules and procedures, but as we continue I may come up with more! These are a few of the more important rules and procedures, but as we continue I may come up with more!

The Strike System  You get a “Strike” every time you break the rules in class: –Gum, tardies, cell phones, disruption, etc. –At three strikes, you get an /phone call home –After this, you receive a detention for each strike.

If you are not inside the classroom when the bell finishes ringing, you will be considered tardy. - This means what it says! I will not argue with you about it! Unless you have a pass from another teacher, you will be marked tardy and will get a strike.

 Journal:  There will always be a journal entry posted on the front whiteboard when you walk into class. I expect you to come in and immediately get to work on this assignment.  If you want to play, stay outside.

“My Time” -When I need your attention, I will say, “my time”, I expect the class to quiet down and be ready for instruction. I expect you to help each other out with this procedure. If you hear me say “my time,” alert your neighbors.

Paper Headings: in the upper right-hand corner of your paper:  -Every paper you turn in will have the name, date, period number, and assignment in the upper right - hand corner.

Please write in pencil or in blue or black ink! If your writing is poor, feel free to type your assignments! If I can’t read it, it’s wrong.

If you need a pen, paper, etc: -Sneakily ask your neighbors for supplies, do not ask me. We need you to remember your materials. If nobody will lend you a pencil, wait for a quiet moment and give me collateral.

If you are finished with an assignment early:  -You can work on other assignments, but ask me first!

Restroom/Water Policy:  Always ask for permission before going to use the restroom. I only allow one student at a time out of class.  You get 5 bathroom passes per semester. Don’t use them and get 5 Extra Credit points each (25 total!!!) Don’t use them and get 5 Extra Credit points each (25 total!!!)  Bathroom pass is on the pencil sharpener by the door.
