CAL DQM January 2004 Thomas Schörner-Sadenius DESY, 28 January 2004

DESY, 28/01/2004TSS: CAL DQM 21-28/01/20042 This CAL DQM Week …  … was actually my first week on shift ;-)  … was rather busy and showed several problems: 1.Friday, Saturday: Funny behaviour of module B17: From time to time all channels dead; scope shows shaky signal with reduced amplitude. Suspicion: local clock signal to front-end card corrupt? Problem occurred once more. 2.Saturday/Sunday: Readout had to be restarted several times by the shift-crew because of hand-shake problem with EVB. 3.Sunday: Very high dead-time (80%) and CAL busy. Before, CFLT had closed some hot cells. Mauricio discovered bad PED sigma in B10. Bad channel update cured (?) the problem. Now bad channels gone again.

DESY, 28/01/2004TSS: CAL DQM 21-28/01/20043 Details I 21/01/04: CAL_QUICK_CALIB  calibration bad channels, 2 holes 22/01/04: QIN /3(1)/0 UNO /0/0 PED /0/0  calibration 3360 FEC (fast)  calibration 3361 trimming UNO /100/23 QIN /2/1 PED /7/1  calibration bad channels, 0 holes

DESY, 28/01/2004TSS: CAL DQM 21-28/01/20044 Details II 23/01/04: Michele discovered funny B17 behaviour: all channels bad, UNO and QIN show only half the signal. Scope study with Isabell shows flickering B17 signal. Suddenly flickering disappears (did we touch cables on third floor?). adc2volt ec_1 run 16805, adc2volt version 2292 UNO QIN PED  calibration bad channels 24/01/04: CAL_QUICK_CALIB UNO 2/2/0 QIN 0/0/0 PED 0/0/0  calibration bad channels, 2 holes

DESY, 28/01/2004TSS: CAL DQM 21-28/01/20045 Details III 25/01/04: 6 am: Shift crew: restart the readout (hand-shake with EVB does not work). 7 am: high dead-time (80%) and CAL busy ???? PED sigma energy problem in PHYSICS runs. CAL_QUICK_CALIB UNO 1/4/0 QIN 0/9/0 PED 0/9/0  calibration bad channels, 2 holes Note: B10 problem shows up in the bad channels!
