See The Light Boulder!
What is our Goal: Our goal is to provide Municipalization information (light) to the Public that the City of Boulder doesn’t or won’t provide, or won’t provide without extra cost and persistence. Our goal includes the same goal that the Municipalization effort claims is their goal. The smartest and best way to reduce Boulder’s carbon footprint.
The Emperor’s New Clothes. Many years ago there was an Emperor so exceedingly fond of new clothes that he spent all his money on being well dressed. Every day many strangers came to town, and among them one day came two swindlers. They let it be known they were weavers, and they said they could weave the most magnificent fabrics imaginable. Not only were their colors and patterns uncommonly fine, but clothes made of this cloth had a wonderful way of becoming invisible to anyone who was unfit for his office, or who was unusually stupid.
The Emperor’s New Clothes "But he hasn't got anything on!" the whole town cried out at last. The Emperor shivered, for he suspected they were right. But he thought, "This procession has got to go on." So he walked more proudly than ever, as his noblemen held high the train that wasn't there at all.

Xcel Energy's challenge that Boulder has met its charter requirements 4. The condemnation court case filed by Boulder 5. A CPUC case regarding how Xcel Energy's solar and energy efficiency programs will continue in Boulder

Who we are: We are a group of Boulder and neighboring individuals (like Gunbarrel residents) who have questions and seek answers about Municipalization. Simple questions like: – What are the real costs to date? – What are the documented future cost estimates so we can critically review them. – Where is a recent ( ) cash flow statement that describes how a Boulder utility will break even while buying energy from profit motivated energy sellers and purchase bonds from profit motivated bond sellers. Like any group we come from a diversity of backgrounds and have a diversity of opinions about Municipalization. What unifies us is the search for information that is fact based and not obscured or based on bad logic and fact-less rhetoric.
What is our financial/legal status: We are SeeTheLightBoulder LLC. Registered in the State of Colorado August 7, 2014 We chose to be a limited liability corporation because of the need for quick action and the much longer process necessary to become a non-profit corporation. We are absolutely NOT funded by Xcel, we are funded by individuals, and since we are not a non-profit, those donations are not tax deductible. Any donations that are not used at the end of this effort will be used for carbon reduction incentives that will actually reduce Boulder’s carbon footprint. Our financial goal is to break even and not make one cent. Our expenses include incorporation costs, web site development and maintenance, information publications, the fees that are required for getting information from the City of Boulder, advertising and public information forums. There are no paid staff.
Current Financial Status To set up and host a web page would be about $600 with additional maintenance fees of about $35/hr. It is possible we will have a volunteer set up and maintain the web site, but that is not yet certain.
