Important People in WWI Connor Ivins

Important people from the U.S. The General of the U.S. army during World war one was General John J Pershing. He led the Americans to many decisive victories during the war. He was able to keep most of the Americans from the front lines of the battle. The President of America during WWI was Woodrow Wilson. He is known for keeping America neutral throughout most of the war.

Important French People Joseph Joffre, Ferdinand Foch, and Philippe Pétain were all military leaders for France during the war. Each one played a unique role in contributing to the War. Joffre was the most senior French officer while Petain was considered a national hero. Foch ended up helping lead the Allied troops to victory over Germany.

Important British People Some important British people include: Sir Charles Townshend, Sir Christopher Cradock, and Winston Churchill. Churchill is known for serving as prime minister during WW2, but he also served as head of Britain’s navy and a battalion commander in World War 1.

German People in WW1 Germany had many key people in the war such as: Kaiser Wilheim II, Arthur Zimmerman, Alfred Von Tirpitz, Max von Baden, and Paul von Hindenburg. Wilheim was the emperor of Germany at the start of WW1 and basically started the War. He was replaced by Max von Baden towards the end who ended up playing a role in the eventual Armistice.
