Tips for search in NCBI Search terms typed in the query box are automatically AND ed i. e. the search engine returns documents that include all of them. boolean operators: AND OR NOT Wildcard character * –COX searches only for COX, but COX* searches anything that starts with COX, like COX1A, COX1B etc Phrase search –“pinus sylvestris” rather than pinus sylvestris
