Presentation transcript:

My will shall shape the future. Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own. I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me or I can be lost in the maze. My choice; my responsibility; win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny. - ELAINE MAXWELL ELAINE MAXWELL

1. A process to help you improve yourself and feel good about yourself 2. A method of motivating people to work toward the improvement of their lifestyle. “HEALTHY BODY……HEATHLY MIND”

1. Short term– can be achieved in a few days or weeks. 2. Long term – may be achieved in a period of time from a semester to a year. Long term goals may also be set for a much longer period of time. “The journey of a thousand miles starts will one single step”

1.Desire– wanting to improve yourself! It’s 100% up to you! 2. Belief– “self-fulfilling prophecy” 3. Starting Point– it’s important to know where you are now before you can set goals for where you want to be!!! 4. Set realistic goals— goals must be both reachable and challenging. 5. Write down your goals– By writing down your goals you make them more concrete. 6. List Benefits – how will you benefit from accomplishing your goals. “FAIL TO PLAN…..PLAN TO FAIL”

7. List Obstacles – what may get in the way of you attaining your goal. 8. Knowledge – what do you need to know to accomplish your goal. 9. Action Plan – a step by step strategy for reaching your goals. 10. Time line – helps you pace your efforts, promotes commitment, gives you direction. 11. Monitor progress – keeps you from wasting time and losing interest in your goals. 12. Never Give Up!! “The secret of success is constancy to purpose.” BENJAMIN DISRAELI

A goal must be specific, realistic, and measurable. “On my fitness exam, I will score 30 laps on the 12 minute run.” “I will make it to Stage 8 on the final Beep Test.” “I will increase my fitness scores by 10% by the end of the semester.” “IF YOU BELIEVE….YOU CAN ACHIEVE”
