Lesson 14 Vocabulary Story by: Charles Micucci

Living together in communities or in groups. The neighbors are social at the block party.

A giving of one thing for another.. They had many exchanges of ideas as they talked to each other.

More than is needed or usual. You can never have an excess of money.

To make stronger with more material, help or support.. They boys worked to reinforce the walls of their sand castle.

A space or place for storing things. We can use a USB for storage of work created on a computer.

To carry from one place to another. The bus is used to transport children to school.

An enclosed space in a machine or in an animal’s living space. The alien survived the long journey in a special chamber.

Not enough to meet a demand. Oysters that contain pearls are scarce to find.

Something that blocks or stands in the way An obstacle was placed in front of the pothole in the road.

To cause to move from one place to another. The doctor transfers the patient with the use of the wheel chair.
