About NAYEC  NAYEC is a shortened name for National Association for Youth Empowerment in Construction, we are a Youth Civil Society Organization (YCSO) under the auspices of the Not Profit Sector.  We are registered with the department of social development under the NPO ACT 1997 Registration number  We have signed MOU/A with CETA, CBE and CIDB is also interested to work with us to provide cutting leading edge empowerment for young people.

Our Vision  To be seen as partners and a key to unlock the backlog of skills scarcity, sector transformation and of the construction industry.

PUBLIC WORKS (VOTE 06)  Public Work’s aim is to provide for and manage the accommodation housing, land and infrastructure of national departments.  Lead and direct the implementation of the national expanded public works program, promote growth, job creation and transformation.

Public Works Goals and Objectives Specifically for Youth  To Train 6000 youth in Artisan trades of the build environment  Facilitate the exit of youth trained through the National Youth Services programme by ensuring that at least 15 percent of the youth trained are placed annually

Our Proposal for VOTE 6 PW Budget  A task team must be established with its own budget and mandate.  NYDA, NAYEC must lead the task team.  We must be given the role to create an environment where we can participate meaningfully.

Proposal Continue  PW must allocate enough budget for youth skills development, career development and entrepreneurship.  We need politically by-ins the portfolio committee must lead that process.  Young people must be seen as a tool for sustainability of the sector.
