History of Pomegranates Pomegranates are mentioned in Egyptian mythology and art and often referred to in the Old Testament of the Bible. The are native to modern day Iran and the Himalayas in northern India.

History of Pomegranates In ancient times pomegranates were carried by desert caravans for their thirst-quenching juices. By 1416, pomegranates were brown in drier parts of southeast Asia, Malaya, the East Indies, and tropical Africa.
