Charles dickens Charles dickens wrote Oliver twist and Great Expectations as well as many other famous novels. Charles dickens was born in Portsmouth on 7 February 1812.

In the victorian time rich people normaly would not be allowed to play with other children and offtenly live quite far away from other house’s.

Poor familys normaly lived in slums or on the road a poor person is normally sick or has diseses and can never keep there self fed and are never clean.

The railway age was a direct result of developments in steam, coal and iron. The first passenger railway was opened between Stockton and Darlington in By 1850 Britain was criss crossed by a network of railways.

During the 19th century highway robbery, theft, burglary and forgery were mainstay activities of the professional criminal and crimes of passion and drunken assault were commonplace. For many others, committing a felony was one way of attempting to solve life’s problems.

The Victorian period was seen as a significant period in the development of Britain and new inventions formed a key part of this. These inventions helped shape the lives of normal everyday people and made travel, communication and trade easier than ever.
