 Started NGO “THERISSA WOMEN DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY” in the year 2004  Became sarpanch in August, 2006  In the beginning, Gram Panchayat Secretary disregarded as I belong to SC community and also due to lack of knowledge about roles and responsibilitities of Gram Panchayat Sarpanch  AMR-APARD had given training to sarpanches in the month of Dec,2006  As a woman sarpanch, I was very much concerned about liquor consumption in the village  Banned liquor sale points in the village in the month of Jan,2007  Actively involved in getting sanction of pensions under NSAP/INDIRAMMA, houses under Indira Awas Yojana (IAY)/INDIRAMMA,individual household toilets under Total sanitation Campaign(TSC), Drinking water projects under National Rural Drinking water Programme (NRDWP),MGNREGS  Per annum Investment for welfare and development activities in the village was enhanced from Rs 1,50,000 in 2006 to Rs 70,00,000 in  Acted as resource person in sarpanch training programmes

 Attended 3-day orientation workshop at APARD under Lab – to - Land Initiative  Selected 10 volunteers for training at APARD  Trained BNVs have shared their training experiences  10 Trained BNVs have proposed to me to take up voluntary activities like ban on plastic use, avenue plantation and immediately taken up in the village  These activities were covered in the local daily news papers.  Having known through the daily news papers, the neighboring Gram Panchayats’ Sarpanches have enquired about the concept and voluntary work done by youth in our village.  After seeing the activities done by 10 volunteers, 15 volunteers have come forward to enroll as BNVs including myself  Now, there are 25 BNVs in village
