We can classify mammals into 3 groups by the way that they reproduce  Monotremes  Marsupials  Placental mammals

Monotremes don ’t give birth. They lay eggs. The young grow inside the eggs. They are quite well-developed when they come out.

The young grow inside their mother´s body, but they aren´t well-developed when they are born. They must continue to develop inside their mother´s puch.

They are the most numerous group of mammals. The young grow inside the mother´s body. They are well-developed when they are born.

We are placental mammals. We also are members of the primate family, along with chimpanzees and gorillas. We also share this characteristics with them.  We have fingers that we can use to manipulate objets.  Our eyes are at the front of our head. So we can see straight ahead.  We are different because we are bipedal. That means that we walk on two legs.

PHOTO HUMAN BEINS In this photo we can see a girl with a monkey.

Most platypus live in Australia, others live in Tasmania. Their body is covered with dense, brown fur that traps a layer of insulating air to keep the animal warm. They are carnivores.

 How many groups of mammals are there ?  Do monoterms give birth?  Where do platypus live?  Where do young marsupials grow?

 There are 3 groups.  No,they lay eggs.  Most live in Australia, but others live in Tasmania.  In their mother´s body.
