“Pelanggaran HAM Atas Nama Agama” Al-Qaeda By: Catherine 6C

Summary O There’s this one group called ‘Al-Qaeda’. They defend their religion which is Muslim. They took the Muslim teaching wrongly. They think that to defend Muslim is to kill people that has other religion. They have been to many countries and kill, bomb buildings. Like in Indonesia, they bomb a hotel. Many people has try to stop them. But because their group is already big, it’s hard to stop them.

Opinion O I think doing this is wrong because it go against the rule of 10 Commandments, Catholic Social Teaching and the bible. We should finish this problem because it deals with the God and religion.

10 Commandments O In this case, ‘Al-Qaeda’ kills people to defend their religion. Based on 10 Commandments, it’s not allowed to kill

Catholic Social Teaching O In social teaching, it against rule number 3 about rights and responsibilities. ‘Al-Qaeda’ have the rights to choose their own religion and the responsibility is to respect their on religion and other’s too. But they didn’t.

Bible O They also broke the rule in the bible. It says that we need to respect God as number 1 and respect human as number 2. ‘Al-Qaeda’ didn’t respect God because they has broke the rule (10 Commandments) that god has sent himself. They also didn’t respect human as well because they do killing by sending bombs in the building around the world.

Suggestion to Solve the Case O We should still believe in our own religion even though we will be scared that they will bomb again. But if we change religion like theirs, they will think that they have won and can control everybody based on their teaching and opinion. O We should not join ‘Al-Qaeda’ group even if they pay us or whether we’re scared of being killed by them. Because if they get bigger, they will bomb more places around the world.
